What's the likelihood this extension actually opens by the end of 2027? That seems optimistic

Does it seem optimistic? From the monthly reports they seem to be tracking in the current schedule with stations due to be complete by early 2027.

Fall 2027 gives them 18 months, here is where we were about 18 months ago:

I mean the only reason it will take that long is because of all the dynamic testing of the track/station systems. I assume they plan on having most of the major construction wrapped up by the Spring.

Oak-VGH is really coming along. I was across the street barely 4 weeks ago and the station superstructure wasn't anywhere near being topped off.

Yeah ideally it's close to a TransLink seasonal service change.

I suspect that they can test the trains while the finishing work on the stations is still being done.

It's also about commissioning of all the different systems within the stations and tunnels; electrical, elevators and escalators, ventilation, communication, safety.

Prep work for the Cambie detour

Quote:
The Broadway Subway Project Team is in your neighbourhood getting ready for the start of traffic deck removal at
Broadway-City Hall Station. Beginning in late July, Broadway will be closed to vehicles between Alberta and Cambie
streets for approximately six months, with a detour in place via 8th Avenue. To prepare, crews will be working along
W. 8th Avenue between Alberta and Ash streets doing electrical work, altering the road, and installing new traffic and
bus priority measures. These preparations will allow for a traffic detour around the temporary two-block closure of W.
Broadway, helping to keep people and vehicles moving safely and efficiently during traffic deck removal, backfilling,
and road restoration.

Night work on Cambie Street and Broadway on June 11-13

Seems that will finish Cambie soon!

June 11, 2026

The Broadway Subway Project Corporation (BSPC) is in your neighbourhood restoring the west side of Cambie Street south of W. Broadway after constructing underground passenger connections between the Canada Line platform and the new Millennium Line platform at Broadway-City Hall Station. As part of this work, crews will be working overnight June 11/12 and June 12/13 to remove the final sections of the pedestrian walkway and finish backfilling the area. The work is being performed at night to minimize business

disruptions.

Looking at the condition of things yesterday, it seems there's still a ways to go.

Referring to Cambie Street proper, not Broadway at Cambie.

Looks like the poles are green, and it seems they’ve poured some concrete on the south side as well.

Yeah they just looked black when I saw them since they were backlit last night. There's a concrete pump truck that is finishing off the south side sidewalk.
