^ this is all terrific news, only that if they are going to skywalk from a new hilton to the javits it better be a helluva well thought out and iconically designed skywalk because generally those are eyesores.

Who knows. They won’t even release conceptual renderings of it. But I suspect its meant to replace the underground passage that was located here, as well as make the hotel a direct appendage of the convention center.

Why do a visually invasive skywalk when the fact this section of 11 Av is actually a viaduct makes a new underground concourse easily buildable? So stupid.

This whole development is stupid, when you consider what could have been, and the fact that the much larger former truck marshalling yards, which could hold much more housing - affordable and otherwise - sits vacant, with no clear plans to move forward on anything. But maybe they just want to tie it into the Javits visually. It’s not really a huge hotel, though something is better than nothing. But I remember when Gary Barnett proposed a 980 ft hotel on this site, long before the Affirmation Tower or any other proposal.

Where exactly can I find the stated number of floors for the two towers—70 and 40 floors?

Apparently, it was supposed to be 72 and 24 stories tall, but I don’t know where or how to find that information in the DOB?

I haven’t seen any information about the potential 40-story Hilton Hotel. The only thing I know is that construction can’t begin here for another three years. (Information as of late 2024)

They are filed separately under those addresses...
