Is the Gastown BIA unaware that Gringo has closed? It also was about as Mexican as Panda Express is Chinese.

Yeah I swear that the BIA reps have cited "Mexican owned" establishments in response to the confusion over the Barrio signage, and Gringo is not only intentionally not authentic (like a parody of cheap bastardized tacos), it's also decidedly not owned or operated by Mexican-Canadians.

I will not abide this Gringo hate! Cheap beer and tacos when nothing else was happening in the area years ago.

But they are closed now anyway aren't they?

Surrey has a few Mexican businesses in the Whalley area, unfortunately, they are all deep in the area where all the homeless and drugged-out people hang out. There are about 3 Mexican/Latin American stores and a few Mexican restaurants. And there seem to be a number of Mexicans living in the area as well.
