^^^This must be the new iteration of the cancelled Violet Crown project (near Southwest Parkway and 71)!?!

I have not seen any notices of permits for this type of development...

Ok I am IN, but I wonder what type of shows they'd actually draw without any ........seats. Doesn't look too comfortable.

If I could rent a spot for a couple days, tube the river, hike, boot scoot at Gruene Hall, then settle in for a Boz Scaggs concert....(that was for you AB!) ......I'd be in like Flynn.

But seriously, this venue gets pretty cool shows, Dylan for instance. This might draw even more diverse crowds...it'd be cool to see some 80's bands there....the Cure, or Sting for instance, or better yet; classical and jazz.

You may be confusing this with White Water.

I like the ampitheater mock-up/idea. Miss me with the luxury/resort elements though. Wish we had something like it permanent on Auditorium Shores, plus a shaded seating area. Recalls a memory of going to the Hollywood Bowl 25 years ago this summer to see Diana Krall and the Clayton-Hamilton Jazz Orchestra.

Moody Amphitheater is mostly fine, but lacks a couple elements I would have liked.

HEB stage at Long Center leaves more to be desired (plus get rid of the sponsorship logo).

UMusic Hotel & Private Residences Austin has been announced as a new project in Austin, Texas, featuring 150 guest rooms and 600 private residences. The property will be operated by UMusic Hospitality & Lifestyle, with White Rocks as the owner and developer. The Private Residences are now available for purchase.

The development includes the White Rocks Amphitheater, an open-air venue designed for live performances, and is situated on a 71-acre site overlooking ten thousand acres of Texas Hill Country preserve. More than 70 percent of the site will remain as green open space. The project aims to integrate hospitality, culture, community, nature, conservation, technology, business, and philanthropy.

The hotel will feature a central bar, an interior performance venue, professional recording and content studios, a nightclub, comedy club, destination dining, and a spa and wellness center. Indoor and outdoor gathering spaces are included, and the parking structure is fully clad in Corten steel with a rooftop pool and fitness club.

UMusic Hotel & Private Residences Austin is the first UMusic Hotel property in the United States to introduce Private Residences. These condominium homes will offer private pools and fitness facilities, secure underground parking, common areas, and access to hotel and entertainment amenities. Residents will have access to dining and entertainment provided by UMusic Hospitality & Lifestyle.

Where in the hill country is this thing gonna be located? It wasn't too long ago less than a year we had a proposed music venue between Oak Hill and Dripping Springs (near the corner of Fitzhugh and Troutwein). Huge backlash that ultimately got it cancelled. Locals don't want this kinda thing in our backyards.

I believe the backlash for the other one was because it was situated near the water table or something.

This actually looks really cool and I'm all for it

EDIT: I meant to say, this will 100% not get built though.

This is roughly accross SH71 from where Southwest Parkway ends at SH71. The last project proposed for this site included two ~400' towers IIRC. But it was canned because it couldn't get approval for waterline connections.
