All those windows you can't see into on the east face will be the false facade over the core.

It does.

well i hope its on the 800’ side so we dont end up with a nice, but too stumpy building — a la the foster 597’ shorty hearst tower.

edit — i read they are looking at more air rights via the metropolitan club.

It's up there but I'd bet it's beat by a hospital tower somewhere. Sometimes they need 8+Ft of plenum space (above the ceiling and below the floor deck) to run all their HVAC and plumbing.

So can this grow more than 800 feet tall?

I read that Related plans for the tower to be 840,000 square feet. Does anyone know if the 800 foot version reflects the full 840,000 square feet?

actually the post sez the air rights were already transferred —

But with air rights already transferred from the low-rise Metropolitan Club on Fifth Avenue, the Related project is guaranteed views of Central Park for its future occupants.

Thanks. Do you know how tall Extell’s 570/574 Fifth will be? I’m guessing 800 to 850, but I’m curious if it can be taller.

The tower we’ve seen looks great, but I’d prefer the no action version.

The setbacks are a little overkill, although that's probably just a massing.

That’s not a real proposal, just a benchmark for the purposes of the study. The difference between the two is what they always look at in these environmental reviews. It wouldn’t really fit an office proposal anyway.

What we've seen so far looks really nice and is far superior to the original stick condo/hotel that we initially saw. However, I hoped for a tapered and less boxy design, like Foster's proposal for the Oceanwide tower in SF.

That’s good news!

Do you think that the obscured rendering we’ve seen is the 600 foot version or the 800 foot version? Comparing it to The Four Seasons, it seems to be the shorter version.

P.S.: Hopefully, there will be news about Related’s condo project at the Prada site soon.
