It’s no longer in Westdells site plan: https://www.westdellcorp.com/wp-content/....31-Stoney-Creek-Commons-Portfolio-1.pdf

At one point it was displayed as being in the phase 2 area.

I don't think Panera Bread is doing that well financially, which is too bad. It used to be a nice option for healthier lunches and has a decent atmosphere compared to Tim Hortons, etc.

Here is another site-plan update from this week...

KFC and Tim Hortons are back on the plan... along with Subway and Poulet Rouge (a Quebec chicken restaurant chain).

That phase 2 plan still gives me the idea Walmart will move out of Northland. It's probably not a lot larger but given how old the Northland store is and its location, this area might be better for them. I imagine a ways off now that they have announced the new store in the southwest.

I wonder what (if anything) could take over the Northland Walmart spot. Even if subdivided, I am not sure that it would be very attractive, given the growth of new retailing to the North and the relative decline of retailing.

For years London was over-malled, now it is rapidly becoming over-plazad.

Time to pivot to high rise residential towers me thinks. Wonder who owns the Northland Mall property and if they are a residential player in Ontario/Canada.

Capital City owns Northland and no, they have no residential, just small to medium shopping centres in Ontario, Alberta and BC

There’s been some activity this week. Looks like they’re levelling the phase 1b area of the lot.

But the westdell plan still has no tenants shown.

Heavy equipment has been working the next phase with sewer and utility servicing being installed.

I’m curious what’s going in there. They already have a few vacancies in the lot.

I suspect they will build the two buildings fronting Highbury which appear to have some tenants signed. The larger building still hasn't found a tenant and will remain dirt.

There were a whole bunch of tenants listed in a prior site plan which is totally different than now, too, so who knows what's up with that side of the property.
