Thanks for the background. The 1967 logo is clearly the best, though I might not immediately know it's a maple leaf without the context. Maybe more a Star of David without the bottom point.

Ottawa 2017 is my second favourite as it's the most obvious maple leaf.

Canada 150 looks more like some space museum logo or something, or yeah, some sort of flower festival.

All three are far superior than the Ottawa 200 drab non-logo.

Maybe they could add simple figures onto the stage, within the spotlight, when advertising various performances. Two actors for a play; a violinist or pianist for music; or a ballerina for dance. That would make it readily identifiable as an arts centre, and which branch was being highlighted.

Minimalism in logos was big at the time of the NAC redesigned logo. I don't disagree that some additional design to evoke the three performance art disciplines would have been positive. I did prefer the old logo, but this one has grown on me.
