The old Kent building on Coverdale Road has been listed for sale.

I remember its development potential being discussed on the forums some time ago. It's a good sized property in a prominent location. (3.58 acres)

That’s fantastic, when Kent moved to their new location in Summerside, they had the old location for sale before it even opened. I figured the Riverview one wouldn’t be far behind.

Would make a spiffy No Frills.

I really don't think No Frills is going to Riverview Place.

No Frills just doesn't seem to be a good fit for Riverview Place.

Since this building was Sobeys before it was Kent, there is a grocery history on the property. All the loading docks are there, so I think it would work nicely.

It's a large property, and the parking lot is oversized. Maybe they could also put a smaller retail pad there - a QSR maybe?

Remember 7 years ago, the mixed use 10 storey twin tower called The Current that was supposed to be built on the Chocolate River Factory piece of land?

Someone could easily buy this old Sobeys/Kent $4.4 million piece of land and reshape it into something nice here.

Yah, and the owner of the Homestead won't complain that it would ruin the feeling of a small town.

The size of this lot would easily handle 2 residential towers if they did underground parking and the existing building was demolished. I don't see that happening though.

It looks like CIBC is moving to the unit next to Dollarama and out of Riverview Place Mall

This thumbnail is on CCD Canada:

Quote:
NB - RIVERVIEW
PINE GLEN RD. RESIDENTIAL BUILDING, PHASE 2
NEW MULTI-UNIT RESIDENTIAL BUILDING
$7,350,000
Is this something we already know about. It is listed as "Phase 2."

A valuation of $7.35M is pretty high.

Thoughts???

Could it be the 3rd ICON building? Or is $7.35 million too low for a 6 floor concrete construction building?

I was wondering that, but, yes, I imagine the third ICON building would be more like $20M

Those buildings are listed on White Pine not Pine Glenn.

I was told today by a barber that the King's Krown barbershop will be moving into the old liquor store in the Riverview Place parking lot, and adding an extra chair. Tier Too Properties are currently working on the interior, sub dividing it into 5 units. Vogue Optical will be expanding into the existing barbershop space.

Current status of the new apartment building going up on Cleveland Avenue in Findlay Park:

From Aura Construction Management Facebook page.

Quote:
Great progress taking shape at our 124-Unit apartment project on Cleveland Ave.

Framing is now completed on one side of the firewall, with roofing officially underway. M&E rough-ins have also started as the building continues moving ahead at a strong pace. ⚡🔨

The second side is also nearing full framing completion, bringing the entire structure together quickly. Excited to keep pushing toward the next phases of this project.

📍1167 Cleveland Ave, Riverview NB

It never ceases to astonish me that these buildings keep going up, and continue to fill up with tenants.

Bill Hennessey addressed the city council some time back and pointed out that we have a deficit of 3800 units, so I guess I shouldn't be surprised.

The amount of new units constructed in the Findlay Park area is amazing, yet they keep building. This one of 124 units, Resolute Living 84 units, plus the 2nd ICON building 120+ units, as well as several smaller buildings. Not to mention the number of units that have come on line over the last few years.

Where are all these new tenants coming from!
