Nice proposal from Auburn. Likely years away from seeing a shovel given they will be busy with the three 9s buildings up at Villagewalk for the next few years and eventually their joint project with Drewlo on Wellington Rd S and Bradley. Who knows if ever they will build their proposal on Wellington and Wolfe St beside Victoria Park downtown?

This document has more information on the proposed phases for this project.

Phase one would be the two buildings in the NW corner.

Of note the public participation mtg in January has been cancelled to be rescheduled.

All new buildings today look the same.

Looks like this was approved based on a land swap, maybe its the portion by the heating plant?

It looks like it is the cul-de-sac (municipally owned) being swapped for the southeast portion of the property that will be given to the ESA.

Yes, ericmacm is correct.

If you look at the site-plan image posted earlier, that pink road outline you see branching off Commissioners is a right-of-way / road allowance, which is owned by the city for a draft-approved subdivison. Auburn owns the land surrounding the road allowance.

City permits say that the draft subdivision was approved back in 1986 and was originally intended to have light-industrial around the cul-de-sac, which is what the property was zoned as prior to Auburn's rezoning last month.

I'm not 100% sure on this, but my guess is that the intention of the landowner at that time was to sever/subdivide the land surrounding the cul-de-sac (or "court") to sell to prospective light-industrial companies, which never happened.
