Thinking realistically, by the time that we get around to those extensions, Austin will be significantly more dense (30-50 years).

I used to agree with the don’t go to the airport idea, but this is public service infrastructure—and going to the airport (and major tourist and civic draws) is a smart public policy choice worth subsidizing.
