A friend tipped me off to this. Looks like the Seagate is dead for now. After getting the approval, instead of moving forward, the developer is trying to sell the land.

I frankly wouldn't be disappointed to see this one shelved. It makes Lotus Point a more likely start and it's a way better fit for the Downtown.

I was quite sad to see the Collier's sign being erected. I live a couple blocks from here and this would've done wonders for the area.

Let's hope someone with drive buys up the land and gets some shovels into the ground!

Well it looks like they are selling it with the Development agreement - so the purchaser can either build the DA or do a new one (lets hope for option a).

This isn't very surprising. The plans always looked very rough. It could be a good development but I think it needs more refinement. Hopefully whoever buys the lot and development rights will come out with a new iteration of the design.

HRM should reject the application. Perhaps he'll tell them the market is slow and King's Wharf is killing him.

AllNS reported last week that Darrell Dixon just sold this site to Joe Ghosn.

Hopefully something interesting and imaginative can be done with this property that will jibe well with Greenvale and the surrounding terrain. Lots of potential in this location.

I hope that whoever bought it decides to work with the city and the second phase of the daylighting project that abuts this site so we don't end up with a parking structure/blank wall facing a new park space.

Four lots in the sale for $3 million. HRM should have bought the lots, turned the largest into park space and sold the other 3 lots.

How can Halifax be this complicated? How did this drag out 10 years? Let's hop they get this going again soon!

There is a development-only permit submitted for PIDs 00230953 & 00232975 which is some of the lands formerly part of Seagate Residences. I've renamed the thread to match the current proposal.

11 Floors - 280 Units

These are the two lots that surround Greenvale. One facing Octherloney and the other on Irishtown. 11 storeys seems low as that is an area designated for 90m heights.

Are there renderings?
What was proposed before completely filled the lots which was not sympathetic to the Greenvale. It would be good to have the mess on Ochterloney gone.

At the old Beazley’s Bowling Lanes site? Seems to me there was a development proposal for that location years ago but it seemed to fizzle out? Maybe my memory is off on that though.

Yes, that site, sort of wraps around to the old Greenvale Apartments

Thanks for the update about my old stomping grounds!

I haven't been following this forum much lately - is there a thread about this development already?

I've moved a few posts into this thread that were getting buried under stadium talk in the general thread.

The quote is the permit that is currently submitted for the site in question.
