I'm really shocked Hawaii ranks so low on A/C, considering it gets reasonably hot and humidity is very high in most of the areas that people live.
Looking around online, it seems locals think the electricity costs are so high that AC isn't worth it, and just make do with cross-ventilation and fans.
As a modestly overweight hairy guy who breaks out in a sweat whenever the temperature gets above 75, I just can't imagine living without AC across the vast majority of the country.
