Sadly it appears the woman jumped and didn't survive. I didn't realized funding for the suicide barriers had been cut.

A B.C. advocacy group is demanding the installation of suicide barriers after a death on Granville Street Bridge on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the Independent Investigations Office of B.C. is looking into police actions after the death of a woman who fell from the bridge after a nine-hour-long interaction with police....
... In 2024, former Coun. Christine Boyle presented a motion to include funding for fencing on the Granville Street Bridge after a spike in suicides from the bridge. That year, Vancouver Police recorded 21 incidents involving somebody intending to jump or at risk of jumping from the bridge. In 2025, the number was 25..
...But this spring, city council backed out of its commitment to fund the work in its 2027-2030 capital plan....
