Oc Transpo is a weird org. I suspect the value of print advertising on transit isn't what it used to be with everyone staring at their phones. It can't be nothing though. I wonder if we will ever see a train wrapped in some type of livery.

I was at my beloved Hurdman earlier and was surprised to see Happy Goat Coffee closes at 6pm on a weekday. It also got me wondering why it's so large compared to Blair location. It's not like you go in and sit down. Naturally OC doesn't have a small table with a pair of chairs for your convenience.

Lack of a tuck shop still continues to baffle me. Smokes, vapes, snacks and drinks, USB cables, ear buds, sunglasses, umbrellas are all items I think would move pretty easily. Hurdman and Bayview should really have a retail component to them.

The fact that there is no bus time screen in the doorway area as you go from the train to bus platform tells you everything you need to know about OCs ability to think. There is one by the fare gates yes... but the amount of people that walk in from the ground level is virtually non existent. It's also very much off to the side and unnoticeable. Nobody wants to double back to the far end of the station if they can help it. I come down from the stairs.. and then have to walk away from the bus platform to check times. Makes no sense. I bet if you took a survey the average commuter wouldn't know it was there.

A central screen would make Happy Goat more money I guarantee it. People that realize right in front of a coffee shop they have a 20 minute wait might change their minds. It's also a long ass hike down to the far stops when for someone such as myself I could just take the 105 or 98 to South Keys and that could arguably do me better than the 90. Particular when it's getting very close to the time they shift to the night stop.

I also don't want to always have to use my phone and check the travel planner. I can make an educated decision on the fly if you make it easy for me.

But back to advertising quickly.. yeah weird how that hasn't happened yet and I don't get it. As mentioned... even bringing in 1M system wide would help. Just hire Astral or something like that and farm it out and let them take their cut. Its probably a single phone call away lol. Hey Astral... would you like to be in charge of placing all the signage in every train we own? Yeah? Cool.
