I don't know how anyone can watch this and not be pissed off. The government clearly isn't doing enough to build more social housing, and build more deeply affordable housing for those who don't qualify for social housing. Holt ran on being the anti Higgs, and I really hope we start to see bigger solutions funded to deal with the housing crisis and homelessness crisis here in Saint John, and other NB cities.
$59.4 million on public housing maintenance is something, sure... However, the solutions we need to see in NB to get us get out of a "housing crisis" will cost into the
billions, and require a huge level of coordination and cooperation between all three levels of government and private companies.
Does anyone know what is the biggest affordable housing development with significant government funding under construction in Saint John right now?
