The bike/pedestrian linkup of Gainsborough and Windermere needed to happen 20 years ago. There are no good reasons to not make this happen. None. Just NIMBYism. It would instantly cut the time needed to walk/cycle to Western U from points west by 30-50%.

Sarnia Road is a bike commuter's nightmare, with no dedicated bike lane for half of it, busses weaving in and out of the bike lanes for stops, giant pickup trucks racing past your handlebars with only inches to spare, ....

Western Road has a bike lane...then it doesn't! Suddenly, it peters out. On a bike, having to merge with cars/trucks/busses is akin to having cars merge with trains.

Even Western Campus is bereft of dedicated bike lanes.

The Walt Lonc's of London hate transit and bike lanes, seeing them as a waste of money, but they don't seem to understand that these options take people off roads, making the latter less congested.
