Portland: The Neon Lumberjack

Another year in the life of the wonderful, weird city of Portland, OR. In what has become my favorite annual tradition, the Winter Lights Festival transformed this old pioneer town into a psychedelia laden landscape of neon lights and more pyrotechnic displays than any other downtown would dare to offer. Between this and some other photos from my daily life, I'm happy to say there were plenty of prime photo ops this year

Great photos! I took a ton of them at the winter light fest too, including the neon doggie haha. Were you there on opening night?

Awesome! If you ever post any of those photos I'll definitely check them out. And yes we went on opening night What about you?
Even having seen it busy the last few years, it was nice to see that first night being absolutely packed. I passed through the next weekend as well, and even with the snow storm I saw a lot of people out, with more than a few catching some warmth under the dragon sculpture's fire breath

Yeah opening night was a lot of fun, it gets better each year. Great way to get people downtown during the final cold, dark days of winter. It’s been rain- free every time somehow.

It does almost feel like tempting fate to do it in the middle of February but you're right, we have been blessed every time

Agreed was worried we weren't going to get any this year so I wasn't gonna miss a chance to snap a few pics when it finally did

Me too! It's a great city for sidequests and I've just been lucky enough to capture a few of those on camera

Nice, Eugene is a cool spot. I've only spent a little bit of time there but it had a lot of personality. Definitely worth another visit

Happy to do it My calves were sore as hell by the end from trudging through the snow in sneakers but it was well worth it
