Oh no! I mean good to think something will happen with the empty lot... but I was really fond of the mural on the Busan building. Those GM 'fishbowl' busses are such a foundation of my childhood

I just checked and they're all owned by the same people (Adam Barret), including the empty gas station lot. So that bodes well for the gas station lot getting developed.

Many years ago when I was a kid my late father used to work out of offices that were in the converted house right behind that Esso gas station on the corner. I am trying to remember how long the corner lot has been abandoned since the Esso was demolished. Seems like 20+ years.

Not to mention, Hogies! I still recall the nice loaf of warm, fresh bread that they would bring out to the table before the meal.

Too bad murals like that couldn't be saved, somehow. At least we have photos.

I’ve been in Halifax 24 years and the Essa was not there since I have been here.

I have a vague recollection of the gas station there. Maybe torn down late 90's?

According to a Youtube video it was still open in 1993. Google Earth shows it demolished by 2003. I never remember seeing it so it was probably gone before the end of the 90's.

I was born in '99, and I have no living memory of this being anything but a sandlot. Good to see a development in the works. This and others I think will contribute to a revitalization of Quinpool. The St. Pat's school site needs to get worked on next!

SDCM - Portfolio

Scroll down to the bottom right and there is a rendering that appears to be for this project. The blue wall on to the left is the existing BMO building.
