D’importants projets immobiliers dont certains faisaient l’objet d’une recommandation défavorable du service de l’urbanisme ont été adoptés à la majorité, mardi par le conseil municipal.

C’est le cas du projet de la firme Boless au 95, rue Eddy qui prévoit la construction d’un immeuble de six étages comprenant 60 logements sociaux qui sera transféré aux Habitations de l’Outaouais métropolitain (HOM) une fois la construction terminée.

I remember when that corner burned down many years ago. It has taken this long to build something. Very sad.

But … the render looks like the NW corner of Eddy and Frontenac - the same as the Giant Tiger proposal.

The article had the Giant Tiger proposal as the header, but the text does say 95 Eddy was approved as well.

Thanks - the render in that document looks slightly better than the illustration above. Do we know if that render is an update to Giant Tiger ? Would be a shame to lost the stone and white cladding with gabled roof line for something so generic …

I was in the area this morning. The doors were also open at the old Giant Tiger and guys were doing stuff inside.

So far I am not seeing how this matches the rendering, and continue to lament the loss of that heritage brick structure. There such a fight for every Maison Allumette, but somehow, no one batted an eye at losing one of the few nice brick buildings outside Le Vieux.

Turns out that building burnt down. It's been gone for over a decade.
