But this is a very special location in San Antonio specifically because of the view of the Tower of the Americas and the prominence of the location in downtown San Antonio. A very bland building is going to block the view of a San Antonio landmark from a high-pedestrian-traffic area. I don't find that to be the best use of this space. It's a nuanced discussion, and people are allowed to find issues and express their views on them. In this case it is very justified. If people didn't express their views about architectural proposals, we'd end up with even more bland or inappropriate buildings than we already do, or more landmarks destroyed like the old Penn Station in New York.
I am not excited about this proposal at all for the reasons I have expressed rationally and sensibly. I'm not "just finding issues" because I like to "constantly complain about something." It's ironic that you make a black and white accusation like that about a discussion that has included a lot of well-explained rationale for the opinions that people have expressed about this proposal.
With that said, taking everything into consideration and weighing all the factors involved, this building will be a letdown in this location.

Oh ok, then I totally agree with you. My apologies I misunderstood your comment about the view. I 100% agree with you. I would rather have the view of the tower then that 10 story building that belongs at the Pearl Brewery or Medical Center. Also this building is the background view for concerts now. A few weeks ago Jazz Alive was in the park and the concert stage was in front of this proposed location. This building is not a great backdrop for concerts and the lawn as well. We really needed an iconic building in this location.
