There is an on-ramp for the 417 West at Rochester.

It seems like a circuitous route but it's the consistently quickest one I've found.
The few times I have had to drive from Gatineau to Stittsville in rush hour, Google Maps had me use Portage Bridge to the SJAM Parkway. It then had me go all the way to Carling and strangely turn east back to Woodroffe and hop on the 417 there. This was surprisingly fast. I'm guessing the whole Woodroffe/Carling/Woodroffe routing from the parkway was too slow, so it was faster to go the long way. I have learned to trust Google Maps most of the time (though it does suggest some strange things sometimes).
