Yep, totally forgot that one...is thre any indication on how high they want to go? I know they have to get permissions to carry this out and the new developers still want to include a smaller hotel component. But oh what an eyesore since being transformed from the glorious Commodore hotel to the current glass mess. I don't want to dwell on this too much here being off topic but any definitive or approximate estmates on how high they want to go on this total reworking?
Anyone want to guess as to when one of the two tower cranes is disassembled? My bet is that only one of them will be used to finish off the building, especially because of the configuration of the crown elements and the general narrowness up there.

No indication of height, other than they want to build an iconic skyscraper there, same as SL Green did with One Vanderbilt. There are no height limits, they could go as high as they wanted to.
That building will have a new 500 room Grand Hyatt, likely above the office space. The amount of office space should be equal to, or slightly more than Vanderbilt. We'll see.
“Office buildings are our factories – whether for tech, creative or traditional industries we must continue to grow our modern factories to create new jobs,” said United States Senator Chuck Schumer.
Thank you, NYguy… 500 hotel rooms plus all that office space makes me think they will go similarly in height to 270 Park) which along with Tower Fifth will make in the next 3-4 years three more towers of over 1,400 ft to join One Vanderbilt, which will be incredible! And yes, One Vandy's rise has been very impressive and so excited at its progress so far... looks every bit as great if not even better than the renders!

Sorry for total OT post, but if not for the 8 storeys above the Eagles, plus the crown of course, the Chrysler would be a pretty ugly building. Thank goodness construction didn't stall at that point due to the Depression

Haha, what? Every inch of the Chrysler building is goddamn perfect. Look at the amazing window details, the setbacks and base, the materials, etc.
