Goals scored is fairly even, as is games won. The Oilers dominate on the power play, but it's at least even 5 on 5, if not an edge to Van. Which areas are the Oilers dominating you reckon.

Yeah Canucks are better 5v5 and Oilers have won once in OT (off a Canucks player) and once in the dying seconds.

Canucks can beat them if they play 60 minutes. I'm not sure the Oilers can stand up to Canucks rolling 4 lines.

RIP Dutchy.

What a sports legend in Canada. I recall watching him on ITV's Sports Night back in Edmonton.

Seconded. I only ever saw him on TSN, but Canadian sports broadcasting has lost a good one.

Never forget the line "Zalapski with the Slapski" First thing that popped into my head when I heard the terrible news. Him and Perry Sulkowski were wicked. RIP Dutchy

This one from John Lu highlighted in one of TSN's earlier articles is a classic:

Quote:
"My favourite Dutchy moment: Darren and James Duthie were hosting the TSN Big Show," John Lu wrote. "Dutchy was reading a Cardinals highlight pack. Edgar Renteria was trying to leg out a triple and got thrown out. Dutchy: 'Renteria...Renteria...GONE-aria!!!' JD was speechless."

'Canes are out. I wonder if the coaching carousel will finally start to settle. I think a lot of teams have been waiting on Rod.

Oilers on the brink. Canucks can advance on Saturday. Big test to see if McDavid can come back. He's been shut down pretty well by the Canucks except for 1 game.

That he has, but you can tell he wants it.

Tough loss and what a great first for the Oilers, but then we let it slip away.

Big game on Saturday. Now or never!

I still think either team can win the series, although the Canucks have no pressure so that may help.

Most interesting to me is the surprise at how close the series is, especially from Oilers media folk. I mean it’s not like they’re in the east and just aren’t aware of the Canucks this year. They believe the Oilers are a far superior team and their team is just playing like crap right now.

Maybe they didn’t notice that the after an 82 game sample size the Canucks finished ahead of the Oilers and won the Pacific and are now 7-2 versus the Oilers this season.

The Canucks have a clear advantage in goal, slightly better defence and bottom 6 forwards with the Oilers having a clear but not overwhelming advantage in the top 6. So why the surprise?

Berube to Toronto, guess they weren't waiting on Rod. Let's see how the chips start to fall now.

Bye bye Boston.

What a physical and fun series to watch.

What’s Berube like as a coach? The Leafs need a Tocchett like personality. Somebody the players are scared of to a certain extent.

Honestly, I don't know a lot about his coaching. I mean, he took a team from last place in the league to Stanley Cup champions in 5 months, so he must know how to unlock the talent on a team. But outside of that one year, the Blues haven't been any more successful than the Leafs. I suspect he'll be like Pat Burns - come in, light a fire under their asses for a few years, either succeed or fail, act wears thin, and he moves on.

Yeah, I agree, the act does wear thin. But I think it would be refreshing if it happens.

The enormously scary Avs are out and beaten by one of the deepest most complete teams I've ever seen. Good on Dallas.

I am getting fully into Oilers prayer mode now. Vancouver has done an incredible job at shutting down out top guys who MUST lead this team tonight if we want to have a chance.

I do see us pushing to a game #7, but let's focus on tonight first.

We must get into Silovs head and in front of his face and capitalize on the PP.

What a game!

5-1! Dominated!

Best Van can do is barely win 3-2.

Game 7 is on!
