So with that in mind, how does one create a truly unique cultural district? Mandatory French signage? I think it was thrown around in here that the city hall should be converted to the first cegep in the province, that could be a great use for the space. There's a real wasted potential in St B as Western Canada's original Francophone community.
This property at 158-160 Dumoulin St is up for sale now. It looks like the building plans are being sold as well. Hopefully a developer buys the property and the plans and gets this thing built soon, but I have a feeling there might be some redesign before anything gets built.
That is the project that had the same previous developer as the Verne Reimer project on Provencher. The new developer is proceeding with Provencher (with a different Arch - MMP) and selling the Dumolin property.
