I don't see how that postcard can be dated 1925, as that is a late 1930s-early 1940s car?

In the early 1940s, architect Reginald D. Johnson took 16mm Kodachrome footage of his project Baldwin Hills Village. It's wonderful, you can see it here:

He contrasted the footage of the glories of Utopian living in the Village with the less glorious haphazard planning of early 40s Los Angeles. If you go to 17:34 (through around 17:41) you can see Nirvana in its Kodachrome glory... that pagoda by the street was there in the early 40s? Don't know how to reconcile that with the LA Times image...

The typography is reminiscent of art nouveau....and it looks like there used to be a 'pagoda'-like entryway near the front sidewalk.
-which is missing in the modern view (below).

I found this newspaper clipping and pic dated May 19, 1940. (oddly, the sidewalk 'pagoda-entryway' is missing in it too)
