Velbert is a municipality and city in the district of Mettmann. It is located in the hills of the historic Berg region on the Ruhr region approximately 20 kilometres northeast of of the state capital Düsseldorf, and 12 kilometres northwest of Wuppertal.
Velbert is famous for Sender Lagenberg.
