Nice. Be careful or the Alderman may just downzone it anyway.

That's what Forietti tried to do with XO in the south loop back in the day. The developers sued and he lost...

Wanda Vista shakes its head at you, but it will be nice to be getting a few supertalls built at once if we can

Well, if they call it that, it's probably not getting built.

I agree. I think it will work nicely on this building.

So what's you guys opinion on it so far ? Do you believe the height will stand at 1,011 ? I feel as though this city doesn't need another 600ft-800ft skyscraper .

What this town needs is something closer to a 2000 footer...

That little teaser of the facade looks very promising. Keeping finger crossed for another masculine tall Chicago masterpiece. It'd be nice to have another tall black building in the city of broad shoulders

Agreed: NO MORE foolish nonsense.

I'm tired of aiming for 800 footers, and I'm tired of building the same number of tall buildings as third rate shitholes. This is Chicago, damn it! It has to be tall, it has to be bold, it has to be steel and glass, and it will be that much more significant right across the street from one of America's most important cathedrals.

I think it has a better chance of keeping that height than many have suggested.

First it's gonna be a big investment like probably close to the $900 million cost for Vista.

Secondly it's got a lot of local clout. The developer JDL is local and in fact the President is planning on living 3 blocks away at no. 9 Walton in Hopkin's ward and he currently lives 3 blocks away in the Waldorf in Reilly's ward. Both architecture firms Goettsch and HPA are local and I assume have a few employees living in close proximity. And Holy Name Cathedral is also on board.
