Arrow DALLAS | M-Line Tower | 20 FLOORS

Trammell Crow eyes Uptown restaurant site for new tower
Steve Brown
September 22, 2015

Quote:
Trammell Crow Co. says that the project at 3230 McKinney Avenue will have 271 apartments in a 20-story tower.

There will be 13,000 square feet of ground floor retail.

The new McKinney Avenue trolley headquarters, museum and trolley barn will be on the southwest corner of the new building on Bowen Street at Oak Grove.

“Adding another trolley, barn space and a museum with leadership offices has been a goal of ours for years, but the opportunity to do it the right way has never presented itself,” Phil Cobb, founder of the McKinney Avenue Transit Authority, said in a statement. “This space adjacent to where we are currently headquartered is exactly what we needed to realize the vision and grow.”
Quote:
Underground parking would serve the tower.

Progress update:
Uptown Café Express closing to make way for 20-story apartment tower project
Quote:
A landmark Uptown restaurant is closing this week to make way for a new high-rise project.

Café Express has been open on McKinney Avenue since the late 1990s.

Now the popular Uptown eatery is shutting down to make way for a new apartment tower and retail development.

Trammell Crow Co. affiliate begins construction on new 20-story tower in Uptown

Quote:
High Street Residential, a Dallas-based residential development subsidiary of Trammell Crow Co., in partnership with Principal Real Estate Investors, has started construction on M-Line Tower on the heels of the demolition of the Cafe Express restaurant.

Right before Halloween, Cafe Express shuttered its doors, closing its Uptown restaurant until 2017, when developers plan to complete M-Line Tower, a 20-story, 262-unit luxury residential and retail tower at 3200 McKinney Ave. in Dallas.
Quote:
Construction is slated to be complete in 2017. Cafe Express plans to keep its two Dallas operations open until the Uptown restaurant's return.

ANDRES’ M-Line Tower project is progressing as construction on the 4 and a half-level below-grade parking structure has bottomed out! The 20-story luxury residential tower will begin its ascension, and will include 261 residential units in addition to retail and restaurant space. Café Express will be among the restaurants in the tower, alongside the offices, parking, and museum dedicated to the McKinney Avenue Transit Authority and their M-Line Trolley.
