That's because the central city is really hard to beat at street level.
It is a very pretty city indeed.

Now is it the most beautiful? I find the question to be naive and silly. There are many beautiful places in the world.
Paris may not be a skyscraper oriented city, but it's truly ironic that La Tour Eiffel, universally makes everyone think about magnificently engineered tall structures and skylines.

I know Vancouver and Toronto have many beefy skylines but nothing besides the cn tower stands out tbh.

Looks like we might have to update that old Jacksonville vs. Toronto meme.

San Jose's skyline reminds me a bit of the Vancouver suburb of Richmond:

It was a ranking of most photographed skylines, not most photographed skylines with skyscrapers. I find it very hard to believe that Paris isn't one of the most photographed in the world at any given moment.

From the report

Quote:
Pixsy researched cities across the world with famous skylines to draw up an initial list, before searching relevant hashtags in Instagram (such as #nycskyline and #chicagocityscape) and pulling the total number of posts with each hashtag assigned to it.

[...]

This data was gathered in September 2021, with the figures accurate at the time of research.
They might have decided that Paris didn't have a famous skyline. Not sure.

Clearly L.A. lovers are lazy insta-posters... while Boston is killin' it.
My guess is that the pictures needed to have both "city name" and "skyline" among the keywords. I'm sure there are cities like Paris with tons more overall pictures than most of the cities on this list. They just aren't also tagged with "skyline."

I think the methodology is just flawed. It is hard for me to imagine more people Instagramming the skyline of Nashville than the skyline of Paris.

Using "Nothing that stands out" as a skyline criteria and then picking San Jose...

Richmond and San Jose have lines, and sky, but not much in the way of skyline.

Richmond is really weird. I wonder what is the point of having a podiums for slab style buildings. Podiums are for the tall, skinny towers to meet the street, right? If you build them shorter slab-style, there is going to be a complete street wall anyways. If they are going to have podiums, the buildings should be taller and skinner. Short fat buildings with podiums just looks ridiculous.

I'm surprised San Francisco isn't on the list, the skyline is amazing.

I know this is an inherently subjective exercise, but there's absolutely no way San Jose should appear on any top 10 skyline list. That's absolutely ridiculous. I hesitate to say it even has a skyline. It's far less impressive than even the skylines of small cities like Dayton, OH

San Jose over Toronto.

Well now, how about that?

Personally, I think Peoria has a better skyline than New York City.

San Jose's tallest building isn't even 300 feet...You had to be trolling by including it in your list, so I guess you're getting the reaction you desired!

Not sure about skylines, but my 10 favourite fruit are:

Raspberries
Strawberries
Pineapple
Apples
Lemons
Blackberries
Pomegranate
Grapefruit
Cherries
Cranberries

I've never cared for oranges or grapes though because I find them too sour.

No better bang for the buck out there than bananas.
