Anyone think from the color of these pics, white with a metallic silver around windows with a silver crown instead of the beige would make OBP look better?

Just me i guess.....

I'm not sure if this updated rendering I pulled from the OBP website has been posted here or not but it is more accurate than the ones on page one of this thread. I was a bit confused trying to chart progress based on the other drawing until I found this one. It shows the second mid-height east side setback etc.

Would have looked better in white like this IMO

That's freaking sexy! Also just realized they have a ways to go by the looks of this pic and did we loose some height do to the flat roof unlike what is depicted in page 1 drawing?

So i am not alone in thinking white would look good? The the fact remains this building will look fantastic either way.....

It certainly doesn't look as brownish colored in person as it does in that rendering I posted however. I suspect with the quality of precast that was used, white would have weathered oddly and some beige was added to mitigate this a bit.

Say what one wants to about the building but the top floors are gonna have some spectacular homes. I always loved that 'house in the sky' New York style architecture. That strange sense of being in a formal residence so high up is very cool.

Just looked at 220 and it's a beautiful crown but OBP looks like it's where Batman would live in gotham and that's what im going to tell my nephew!

Ironically speaking of Bruce Waynes type of people, Ken griffen actually bought 220's penthouse. Most expensive house in New York for $250 million.

I still don't like it, and I'm super skeptical about how it will age, but after seeing it person last weekend, it's not as bad as I thought. Once Vista, bkL LSE project, and 400 N are built, it'll be fine.

Yes, Homr, the building should have been white.

One of the things that I don't like about pre-cast... when the panels don't align, shadows are created at the seams.

^Mis-alignments bother me as well, but it's almost always the case that they are corrected before the end of construction.

I'm not sure that is white, it might just be what the building should look like on a sunny day in the summer.

Victor's photos above seem to confirm this, to me anyway.

What this building does need is some protruding vertical elements on the façade to stress the verticality of the tower. The windows should be in recessed channels. Six inches would do the trick.

Agreed. There's been a major loss of craftsmanship in the industry in general.

To me the color of the building resembles nothing to what is illustrated in first page and even the lantern shows an angled roof wich now looks to have been removed.

I do like the final color and hope they dont end up painting it much like they did to the Apple store!

Is there a multitude of evidence to confirm that is true or is that more of a personal sentiment?
