Hopefully it'll just stay as the single mechanical level at the first setback and what ever is stuffed in the crown.

Looks like a smaller 111 W 57th Street. It's like they took the top portion, but forgot the other 800 feet. Eh, nevertheless, amazing design and will really put a spotlight on the area. Hopefully more will follow.

Yeah, this will be a classic NYC skyscraper. Perfect design for the Lincoln Center-area location.

Meh. The designs from other firms were better.

Where can we see the alternative proposals? Can you post them up?

Looks nice. If one were to pick a building to copy, I can think of a lot worse ones than 111 W 57th Street.

What other firms? This wasn't a public architectural competition.

Your looking at it. Keep in mind that developers don't always show concepts or all of the renderings right away. We are lucky we even got renderings at this point. Some developers wait a while. In some cases, into the hard cost stage.

Slow Demolition

I walked by the site this morning and chatted briefly with a worker at the fence gate. The scene from the outside hasn't changed in a long time. I asked if anything was happening and he said the building was coming down. Me: "How long will it take?" Him: "Maybe a month or two." Me: "How come so slow?" Him: "Well, we have to follow the rules." Me: "Kinda brick by brick?" Him: "Yeah." So patience will be a virtue here.

That is awesome. I wonder if SHOP's building on the park was an influence? Classic NY massing. This is going to be great.

Virtual golf and a tween lounge are coming to the tallest planned resi building on UWS
Amenities abound at SJP Properties and Mitsui Fudoson's 200 Amsterdam Ave

Permits filed Tuesday for the planned 51-story condominium tower at 200 Amsterdam Avenue reveal a ritzy list of amenities.

SJP Properties and Mitsui Fudosan’s building, slated to be the tallest building on the Upper West Side, will have one entire floor devoted to fitness and offer virtual golf, a yoga studio, a pool, a sauna and salt rooms, permit filings reveal. Another floor will be dedicated to other forms of leisure, with plans for a conservatory, rehearsal room, club room and a tween lounge, according to the documents.

At 669 feet tall, the 112-unit building between West 69th and West 70th streets will tower above its neighbors. Renderings for the building, obtained by New York YIMBY in June, show a tapered building rising more than 600 feet to a narrow crown. Elkus Manfredi is the architect of record.

SJP, led by Steven Pozycki, acquired the 5,000-square-foot Amsterdam Avenue lot in partnership with Mistui Fudosan for $275 million in 2015, as The Real Deal first reported. The purchase was financed by a $160 million loan from the Japanese Sumitomo Mitsui Trust.

Mitsui Fudosan America, the U.S. investment arm of Japanese development firm Mitsui Fudosan, paid $259 million for a large stake in Related Companies’ 55 Hudson Yards. The firm’s other holdings in the city include 1251 Sixth Avenue at Rockefeller Center and 160 Madison Avenue.

SJP, in partnership with P2B Ventures, received approvals in April for a controversial 64-unit luxury condo at 711 West End Avenue on the Upper West Side.

There were 3 firms in the running for this project. Only 2 made it to offer proposals. One of those firms had 3 schemes, but this is your winner. Sorry but I can't name the other 2 firms for legal reasons.
