I'm not seeing panoramic views of the city either, but I'll just assume that rendering doesn't show us everything.

They sure have been spending quite a few months surveying and reviewing an empty site thats been empty for a while and will continue to be empty until someone picks a shovel up and starts cracking. Somebody must be milking the clock.

The contractor listed on this project is the same as 1 Seaport (Pizzarotti) - any chance this is contributing to the slowdown in work?

Some more updates: Straight from the 45 Broad update resource.

Construction Update #18

WEEKS OF 6/10 + 6/17 + 6/24

Right now our team is reviewing the site. We will begin mobilization for our foundation in July. Stay tuned for more updates!

Sure is taking quite a while to mobilize foundation. Months it seems, with an empty lot. Now in July. I hope in July, it won't be moved to August, and then September, and than 2020, and than 2025, and than ... Fakfnkasfnkfn ksnfkja nfkl !!! illumd!!!

Someone should email them to clarify what exactly they are "reviewing"...

Welcome to the eighteenth 45 Broad Street Construction Update! Every three weeks, we will send out a "three-week look-ahead" of the planned construction at our site. We hope that these updates help our neighbors and community stay up-to-date on the progress of our work. If you have questions, concerns, or want more information, please feel free to reach out to us at 45broadstreet@gmail.com.

On the plus side, they haven't gone dark. There is someone on the 45 Broad payroll who is making the effort to provide updates.

The biggest hang-up in the industry, with contractors being so busy due to this great economy, is getting subs to commit. Generally speaking, lately it's been 2-4 subcontractors bidding most scopes where there used to be 10. Not to mention prices are high. Lots of back and forth negotiation.

This building is basically on hold...

I hope for the best but don't expect much.

Zappy and his Kitty would be far more optimistic if this project were in Chicago.

K Walpole, sounds good, I’m actually far more pessimistic about Chicago projects but okay...

This project always seem weirdly not fleshed out, at least rendering wise. Like it was a student project or something.

This one feels like it's been in the pre-construction phase for so long it's not surprising

There are signs of life via the updates. If this went silent, with no updates via the developer themselves, than we should worry. Give it time, patience. Kinda like with 9 Dekalb... and also if we recall, 111 W 57th, which at one point, looked like it was "on hold".

Weren't they working with the city on how the Broad St station entrance was going to be addressed or something?

That wouldn't impede construction. They need capital. Until they acquire a loan, there won't be more work.

You don't really need a source to know this thing isn't gonna rise anytime soon. The site has been dead for several months now. While midtown is booming, downtown...not so much.

I don't know what you're talking about, there are several residential towers going up in the financial district.
