Cities that could blend into another region

What are some cities that would not look too out of place if they were moved to another region?

A few off the top of my head:
  • Buenos Aires - I think a lot of people would agree that this city could easily blend in if it were located in Spain or France.
  • Santiago, Chile - Could blend well in California
  • Boston - England or Ireland
  • Baltimore - England
  • Miami - Brazil
  • San Carlos de Bariloche and Villa La Angostura in Argentina - Alpine region or northern California Sierra Nevada region
  • Austin - Southern California

In keeping with the preferred usa only discussions here:

1. L.A. = next door to Sao Paulo

2. Dallas = somewhere between Edmonton and Calgary
(so a multi-billion$$ hyper-loop can be $ubsidized)

3. Las Vegas = Saudi Arabia
(so the folks in a $725 billion building in the desert, 170km long... have a place to catch a show)

4. Seattle = Columbian rain-forest
(almost zero transportation costs for java beans)

5. New Orleans = Maldives (H2O issues :-(

6. Most of the (lingering) US rust belt = few other regions?

Miami Beach could fit in at the Jersey Shore. The Art Deco and Jewish residents would probably fit in with the relatively older architecture of some of the Jersey Shore towns, and the clientele in some of the towns as well.

Halifax could fit in with New England, since that built environment in New England seems to just go right up the coast. Nova Scotia's natural areas look a lot like Maine, which is not a surprise.

Some of the towns around Albuquerque and Santa Fe in New Mexico could fit in in central Pennsylvania. There's a little bit of a shabby look in both places from being bypassed by modern commerce that make them feel a little similar.

George Town, Cayman Islands, would fit in in south Florida, outside of Miami, Fort Lauderdale, and West Palm Beach. Much of it looks like those nondescript towns like Miami Gardens.

San Juan could fit in with beach towns in south Florida like Pompano Beach and Deerfield Beach. Much of San Juan along the coast is regular architecture.

Niagara-on-the-Lake would fit in the Mid-Atlantic area, on the water somewhere. The wooden houses and general architecture matches places like Annapolis and New Castle.

Portland and Montreal could switch places. Gray skies, long riverfront CBDs, mountainous backdrop. You could swap Portland for Nashville or Pittsburgh too.

London could blend in to the Northeast Corridor or maybe eastern Canada.

I'm thinking about where NYC would blend right in. Maybe somewhere in the Low Countries in Europe, right next to Amsterdam?

I've only been to Manhattan (not the other boroughs), and IMO Manhattan doesn't blend in with ANYTHING.

I don't think NYC blends in well with Europe, tbh.

ETA: I could see parts of NYC in other regions. I think Queens would blend in well as a Great Lakes city. Lower Manhattan and northwest Brooklyn could blend in around Amsterdam.

The urban aesthetic of the NL is very different than NYC but NYC has a head start with a lot of Dutch names.

Duluth, MN and Bremerton, WA are loaded on ships and swapped out (Downtown Duluth appears narrow enough to fit through the St. Lawrence Seaway)

St. Louis and Harrisburg PA are loaded onto several barges in a lengthy process.

Sacramento and Omaha are disassembled and put on railroad flatcars and switch locations

Nobody will notice as long residents keep it a secret.

I botched my first post, thinking this was about regions growing together .

H-town and LA seem like the could be cousins or brothers, sans the weather and type of vegetation.

If Milwaukee and Buffalo switched places with each other in the middle of the night, would anyone notice?

Gold Coast and Fort Lauderdale seem like they are similar.
Guess Honolulu too?

Portland and Montreal, yeah, I can see that. And I get Portland and Pittsburgh… rivers and hills thing. Not sure about Nashville though.

Pittsburgh could also be where Chattanooga is now. I like to think of the latter as the Southern little brother of the former.
