I really hope the second tower has this level of detail. It's sublime
How tall is the tower approximately in this photo?

It's a skinny tower, I guess that helps

I count around 30 floors so far, this could top out by years end.

Is that an updated rendering? So they did in fact VE out the staggered setbacks that snake around the building upwards?

If so, that's a huge disappointment.

Its the picture JDL has on their website for One Chicago so I'd assume..yes?

https://jdlcorp.com/projects/one-chicago

EDIT: Actually, I don't think you can tell if this is actually proof the snaking set backs are gone because those are on the west side and this doesn't show the west side. Older renderings also show no snaking set backs on east side.

What are the odds that it's just the east side that looks like this, and the west side still has the setbacks? Is that naive?

^This rendering makes One Chicago look more than twice the height of One Superior at 502 ft. So, yeah, still hoping it ends up breaking the majic 1000 ft.

That is correct. South, west and north sides have setbacks snaking up the building.

It actually looks nicer (less plain) than the early rendering shown in this thread's opening post, for both towers actually:

I believe there might have been plans not long ago. I have a friend who used to own an eatery right there (I also used to live right near there). This was back probably more like 2012 or 2013 IIRC, but he told me the buildings were going to get torn down and something was going to be built there. I was told by another restaurant owner nearby, but not in the same buildings, the same thing.

Never happened of course..

View from my office. That's One W Superior right in front of it. Can't believe it's going to dwarf that building.
