Hard to imagine a liner strategy working at 535 N St Clair, the site's not big enough, only 100' deep. This is especially an issue in Streeterville/River North where blocks are smaller than normal. The few places where developers have done this in Chicago, it did require an unusually chonky footprint. Golub did a nice job at The Siena though.

I measured the lot and there’s space. It’s about 220’ X 100’. 140’ X 60’ is reasonable for staggered, flat decks. I used to park in a garage with this type of configuration. You’d basically keep a similar configuration of the existing parking deck. Except it would be just 2 aisles with ramps that escalate 5’ to 6’

Saw that this morning too. I'm hoping that surface lot to the north goes quickly after.

Weren't there plans released for the empty lot north of the Cassidy site at one point?

Anyone know/remember the current story of that parcel?

I noticed that there is no more foundation equipment at 741 N Wells. Could they have finished up this quickly? I guess they must have. Maybe they moved it to Cassidy Tire...

Edit: Ok I actually took this photo from 741 N Wells last week. This looks like the same 2 pieces of equipment shown in BVictor's photo above, eg one blue and one white piece of equipment with Stalworth logos.

741, 868, and 920 N Wells will go a long way filling in the gaps of the Wells St canyon, making it continuous from Division St to the river

The renderings for the Cassidy Tower are not doing the building any justice. I think the building will be a great and unique addition to the neighborhood.

I agree, these low quality renderings are making these buildings worse than they actually are by association. I'd actually argue that it plus its counterpart look slightly better than your average 40 floor apartment building that's built.

I think both this and its proposed neighbor looks t better than the recent 354 N Union, 369 W Grand which are totally fine buildings themselves. It seems more like Kingsbury Plaza or Hubbard Place quality IMO which are above average ~400 footers IMO.

So y'all remember how 1044 W Van Buren only got its tower crane 3 months ago? Apparently it topped out! That's got to be a new record, 18 stories in only 3 months

In addition, they're trucking away with framing. I drove by the site yesterday, and they're almost halfway done.
