It will certainly be massive.

We're very close to the halfway mark, and the lowrise section is basically gone. It really won't be long.

^Halfway already..wonder what they're gonna do with the empty space when the "tail" section is gone? Put up another crane?
Also, I wonder how the ground floor work at 277 is going?

A portion of the "tail" section is the only area that will have a foundation dug. So they will probably start on that.

I'm enjoying the view, a little bit, of one of my favorite in the immediate area. But I will enjoy the view of 270 rising even more.

JPMorgan is calling employees back to the office
Bank wants sales and trading staff to return by Sept. 21

TRD NATIONAL
Sep. 10, 2020

Quote:
JPMorgan is heading back to the office.

The bank, one of New York City’s largest employers, told senior employees in the sales and trading division that they and their teams are to return to the office by Sept. 21, the Wall Street Journal reported.

By directing employees to return after months of working from home, JPMorgan’s message is clear: It’s safe to head back to the office. Executives said employees with childcare issues and medical conditions that make them more vulnerable to the coronavirus can continue working from home. Sept. 21 is also the day New York City public schools return to in-person classes.

I haven't seen anything signifying a time table change, so it looks like all is on schedule. This demo is moving fast.

^ Yeah, we'll be watching this rise upward next year.

383 Madison now towers over 270. So when workers get back, they'll be in for a very different sight!

Nice. Joining the big boys. Now we need a diagram for 350 Park. (And 111w57 is missing its base).

That rendering really pits in perspective just how huge 270 is compared to 1VB...and 1VB is a huge tower in its own right.

Yes, it's a good antidote to all those ultra skinny supertalls.

The diagram says the tower is 1,425ft but the forum title says its 1,388ft. So which one is the actual height?

Likely unknown, 1,388 could well refer to the highest concrete slab. When we were given the 1,425 height I think the DOB only said 1,341 or something like that.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

The thickness with this tower from the side goes up to 1300' mark, which is lunacy.

Tower 5th on a side note looks like a meat tenderizer or some architectural meat mallet.
