Hah, I usually take the photos on exactly 35, but I still think I'll be taking photos of this building as it goes far past my height. Apparently this one has an unusually high ceiling height. For the purposes of a crude comparison, if you divide the height of 155 N. Wacker by the number of floors, the result is 13.33 feet. If you do the same calculation for the new CNA Center, the result is 16.67 feet.

^Ah yes, that's right. In fact, Buck is using those unusually high ceilings as a selling point. They'll be up to your level in no time.

Photo taken around 5:15 today (10/14):

It's kind of hard to tell from this angle, but in the bottom left of this photo (the north west corner of the building) they've just installed some steel frame that angles out the building over the footpath a little. I don't see that in the rendering.

Two photos taken around 9:00 this morning (10/19). The first shows what I was referring to above - the frame angling out over the sidewalk in a way that doesn't seem to fit with the renderings. The same thing seems to be happening on the other sidewalk-facing side, as far as I can tell. The second was just interesting for the hanging steel.

Having the columns transfer away from the exterior in the first three floors above the lobby is certainly unexpected.

James, Thanks for the continuous updates (at grade and above) That second shot wow! Great composition, timing and geometry. A lot more engineering at work here than the renderings would suggest. I havent been this tickled since steel started going up at 150.

Thats going to be alot of roof room in the front lobby. Whats the floor height for the office floors for this one? Looks to be about 12' from those workers standing there.

I'm pretty sure it's just an atypical protective screen.

Wow, seems like a pretty heavy-duty protective screen. Looks like they added the actual screen part this afternoon (photo taken around 4:00, 10/19):

Also, another update from above, since interesting things are happening at the moment (photo taken around 2:00, 10/19):

New website is finally up. Not a whole lot new at first pass....I was hoping for more new renderings:

That cafe space could end up being really lovely. If it's not too heavily patrolled by security.

It's annoying that they still show the awesome curved glass corners in the video even though they VE'd them out ages ago...
