Beautiful photo. Are those hills/mtns in the background actually that visible, or is that with telescopic? Hoping that's how it really looks. Very nice.

I think he's talking about my 2014 Atlanta photo? You can definitely see the North Georgia mountains on a clear day from the Westin. This was shot at 60 mm and the human eye sees at 50 mm so it was visible with the naked eye. Those mountains are about 50 miles away.

Austin's changes are nuts, probably the best I've seen in my lifetime. Minneapolis is pretty cool the way it grew into IDS tower. Maybe OKC will do the same with Devon Tower.

Fort Worth, 2000

2010

Sources: Fort Worth Architecture

Significant Changes
-Imploded our 6th tallest at the time in 2006 (building mid-right in first shot)
-Built a 447 footer in the Omni hotel in 09 (tall new building on the right in after shot)
-Converted The Tower from offices to condos after tornado damage (green skyscraper with white crown in middle of after shot)
-Built the 236 foot "Carnagie" office tower (brown building mid left in after shot)
-Redesigned the Cash America building after tornado damage (short black box in middle of before picture)
-Redesigned the Tandy twin towers (two shorter box twins on left)
-Built the 169 foot city tower (tan building to right of the tallest)
-Built the 324 ft Chesapeake Plaza (V shaped building in left foreground)
-Let the trees grow a bit

Plus lots of smaller structures in the city that have made a big difference.

Orlando went from being a small shopping center next to a lake to a moderately sized office park next to a lake!
Are there any other major cities that are situated on a small lake other than Orlando and Oakland, CA?

I would love to personally see the Miami skyline from about 3 miles out in the water.

42nd Street - Manhattan. Take note that the older perspective is much closer to the island than the modern one.
