I read that as a "wanting more" plea, not so much a criticism. But yeah, get out there with your own camera, and post what and when you can! Different perspectives are valuable.

Well, as you wish, I do apologize to Officedweller, my intentions were not to insult but to request more pictures. As he/she did mention, the more comprehensive shots are left to Klazu and McMinsen. Peace brother.

That's a nice response. Welcome to the forum and may peace be with you as well.

Photography is the lifeblood and we defend our photographers as such. Even with serious disputes (I have one with Klazu) all of their work is what makes this forum good. Klazu's photos remain a great contribution.

Thanks guys!

I also read the post as wanting more pics, although in a weird sort of snarky way.

This got weird all of a sudden... I thought we lived in a day and age where every mobile phone has a camera? Everyone who contributes photos on this forum for the rest of us should be appreciated and thanked, period. A picture says a thousand words after all...

I am honestly quite optimistic about this project coming together in a really cool way. I wish it was taller (wah, wah, wah) but it will be a project that will change the area around it in a very good way. I also think that the construction of it is going to look ugly until the icing glazing starts getting installed.

349 W Georgia Street - DP-2019-00968

Mussen Cattell Mackey Partnership has applied to the City of Vancouver for permission to retain the podium structure and adding two towers above. The proposal includes the following:
- Additional Heritage Density;
- Changes to rooftop forms;
- Additional parking stalls;
- Exterior changes to canopy depths on ground level at each elevation; and
- Associated landscaping on various levels

Under the site’s existing DD zoning, the application is “conditional” so it may be permitted; however, it requires the decision of the Development Permit Board. The Development Permit Board will decide on the permit at a virtual meeting on: Monday, November 9, 2020 at 3:00 pm

We welcome your written comments on this application by October 20, 2020.

Looks like they're making some tweaks to the design.

Curious what the "Changes to rooftop forms" might be.
I think they are maxed out under the view cones.

Good question.

Loblaws at Maple Leaf Gardens Toronto has free parking with $20 purchase
https://www.tripadvisor.ca/ShowUserR...o_Ontario.html

They may have a validation system like some other places in downtown Vancouver / close to downtown.

Otherwise, they may just rely on the walk-ins.

Nice tour. Is the grocery store at street level or below street level?

above... there's an escalator up to the store from Homer. There's also another large format retail space, which may be turned into office space if not leased by a retailer. Also, a large, high-end "Equinox-style" gym.

Thanks for the great photo tour.

The recent renderings give a much better idea of the architectural treatment of the tower windows. It's definitely promising and should look great if well-exectuted.

The fenestration patterns on the tower pick up on those from the original base.

The only concern might be as shown on the north tower.
That grid seems to just be applied to the west (and north and east?) facade (doesn't look integrated into the design)
while the north tower south facade has a banding pattern.
Looks like the grid is on all outward facing facades and the courtyard facing facades are different,
as the south tower's west facade has the grid and the south tower's south facde has a detailed banding pattern.

I didn't realize a Loblaw's was going in. That will definitely liven things up on what used to be a very quiet section of downtown.

Yeah, the din of shoplifters being chased will be deafening.

I love the scale of this project, it really is a beast in it's own way. Even though not particularly tall, the magnitutde of what's being built (esp. with the heritage retention) is really something. Love watching it come together, it's certainly more dynamic than just a single point tower going up (not that I don't love highrise construction lol), but this is something bigger somehow
