NYC: Sept 11th 09

I know this is mad late.
I just got to sorting though pics from the end of summer.

9/11/09.
I started off on the docks of Exchange Place in Jersey City to catch the memorial lights. Took PATH into downtown and walked down to Battery Park

Geat shots. I had great connections to those buildings. My friend lived in Jersey City and we always rode the PATH from Journal Square to the towers. I loved the plaza and and the Sphere too, which I have seen in Battery Park all beat up since the attacks. I can't believe it even survived.
My brother and I video taped the 9/11 aftermath and I also took pictures. I still think about that shit many times everyday and I have about every video and book about it, plus the photos I took of the towers before 9/11 when I was there. I left NYC two months before the attacks so it really hit me hard and fucked me up. If I would not have worked that day, I may have driven over, but I would have had to bring a whole box of tissues with me in my bookbag.

Then our psycho president uses the rationale of 9/11 to attack Iraq, a sovereign country that never attacked us or had nothing to do with 9/11, didn't harbor terrorist etc and has resulted in the deaths of 4,500 troops and at minimum 151,000 innocent Iraqi civilians as normal people know. Now who is the real zionist, imperialist, military/corporate industrialist president who knew damn well many civilians would die for his lies but didn't give a damn? GWB and Dick Cheney are some of the biggest terrorists in history. It's funny how we don't mess with China, India or Russia because these NeoCons know they will fight back. We just attack the weak countries with oil and other resources that we think we should have to ourselves. It reflects on all of the U.S. even the liberals like me and the rest of the progressives across this country.

For the dearly departed

Beautiful thread. I hope when people see these great shots, they not only remember the twin towers, but also all the innocent people that lost their lives that day.
