Right now the NMC puts certain teams (mainly Canadian ones with the possible exception of Toronto, as well as Buffalo) at a bit of a competitive disadvantage.
I feel like there should be at least some limitation on the use of NMC, i.e. limit each city to 50 or 75 or whatever reasonable number NMCs determined on seniority, or limit them to players with at least 7 or 8 years of experience, etc. Right now it's fairly one sided if players can unilaterally determine that they won't play for a quarter of the league without limitation.
