there's another crane just off parkcenter, too. just noticed that one this week.

i think that makes 5 or 6 cranes outside of downtown.

I haven't been over there recently. Is that at the site of the demolished health club?

I've got a few more photos of cranes from today, more in my photo thread.

It is June, isn't this the month both apartment towers are to break ground?
...or sometime this summer?

both the Ovation and 11th/Idaho towers were "hoping" to break ground in June.

i always take that with a grain of salt, since developer timelines tend to be overly optimistic.

it will be exciting to see those two projects rise, though. i'm guessing we'll see a tower crane soon for the ICCU tower, as well.

the London has been awfully quiet lately. i mention it because the last couple times i mentioned projects being stalled, they suddenly became un-stalled.

hopefully the London team is busy adding another 10-15 floors to it.

Yes, I'm ready to see some more cranes in the skyline myself.

I do hope The London comes to fruition. I think, at least by the renderings, it looks like a great looking tower. As Boisebro said, I don't think another 10 -15 floors would hurt.

Any word on the Garden City tower? That did get the green light, right?

Yeah it should be all set. Garden City approved it awhile ago for the tower. It had some hiccups but I think the tower is staying with no changes.

That tower is approved and is on the developers website.

well, now we know about the two hotels proposed for the north half of empty parking lot north of the Simplot building.

the statesman said it's going to be a 14-floor, high-end two-brand Marriott hotel.

no renderings yet, just an application.

the south half of that same block is the rumored 34-floor residential proposal that boisedev mentioned in a recent podcast.

remember when Boise Place was proposed, it was listed at 34 floors and 460'.

and even though it was also primarily residential, i'd be surprised if the new proposal goes that high.

i just hope it's a cool and modern design, hopefully with more curves and elegance than the usual boxy buildings we always get. a peaked roofline would be nice for a change, too.

If your are on Insta, @YIMBYgram posts a lot of eye candy and some of those would look great in our skyline, proportional of course, not the NYC scrapers.

IMO, this would look excellent on that corner lot behind The Idanha.

As city planners aim to eliminate surface parking downtown and businesses feel strain of higher costs to park, it’s a tug of war between Boise’s past and future.

12th and Idaho

https://www.scb.com/project/12th-idaho/

There are some additional renderings of 12th and Idaho on SCB's website (The architects of the tower). Just thought it would be interesting to share.

this building and the Ovation were hoping to break ground last month. hopefully we'll see action on them soon.
