huge surge in nyc since 2010:

NYC Asian Activists Seek to Turn Surging Population Into Electoral Power

New Census numbers showing a 43% increase of Asian New Yorkers in Brooklyn and a 29% jump in Queens fuel demands for more representation as the process for redrawing elected officials’ district lines heats up.

New Census numbers out Thursday show a robust 7.7% population increase for New York City since 2010 — and even bigger surges for Asian New Yorkers at a time when Asian candidates and community groups are moving to build out political power.

In Queens, the Asian population grew 29%, to nearly 706,000 out of 2.4 million residents — far outpacing the borough’s overall 7.8% population growth.

In Brooklyn, the number of Asian residents counted by the Census swelled to nearly 420,000, a nearly 43% increase from 2010, compared with a 9.2% hike in the borough’s population overall.

With strength in numbers, New York City’s diverse Asian communities are organizing to build political power that reflects them and their needs, as a state commission readies to redraw congressional and state legislative district lines.

Asian Americans are the fastest growing group in the U.S., report finds:

"Between 2000 and 2019, the Asian population grew 81 percent, compared to 70 percent growth among Hispanic Americans, 61 percent growth among Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islanders and 20 percent growth among Black Americans. The white population only grew about 1 percent in that time period."

"The U.S. Asian population is projected to reach 46 million by 2060. In the 1870 census, roughly 63,000 individuals were classified as Asian by U.S. Census Bureau enumerators"

"Asian Americans are projected to be the nation’s largest immigrant group by the middle of the century. Single-race, non-Hispanic Asians are projected to become the largest immigrant group in the country, surpassing Hispanics in 2055. By then, Asians are expected to make up 36% of all U.S. immigrants, while Hispanics will make up 34%, according to population projections from the Pew Research Center."

Glenn Loury: We Need Asian Migrants to Offset Loser Americans:

https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2...ser-americans/

"The U.S. government should import more Asian workers because Americans are mediocre laggards, says Glenn Loury, a professor at Brown University.

“I think we need these [Asian] people,” Loury said in a December 20 conversation with Amy Wax, a professor at the University of Pennsylvania. Loury continued:

Let them come. I mean, in fact, that’s the only way we’re going to survive the challenge of the Chinese behemoth going forward another generation or two, because if I look at what’s going on in the legacy population — white and black — of the United States of America, I see a lot of mediocrity, I see a lot of laggardliness, I see a lot of decay and corruption and so forth, of people not realizing the full human potential … I don’t know what the alternative is."

I predict there will be in the future.

Why link to the fascist propaganda outlet Breitbart if the story is from Bloomberg? Lame.

This guy is a piece of shit and if anyone deserves to be "cancelled" he is. You can be smart enough to do well in an quantitative science but if you want to be credible you don't just go around putting down an entire race using subjective phrases that you must know have no backing reality.

This reminds me of when someone on this forum shared that national review piece where the author wrote something like "rural whites continue to whelp more children". Dogs whelp. Yep, that's what poor people are. Stray dogs.

It's been a very long time since I've read so many racial stereotypes openly being throw. And the guy is an Ivy League professor. It was a kind of talking you could expect to hear on a gas station or whatever.

Amy Wax is a tenured professor at the University of Pennsylvania, which ensures her employment through the union, but she was removed from teaching classes several years ago. The law school is actively exploring different options to have her completely removed and terminated.

Woah, what happened here? Why did Cuban emigration fall off so dramatically in 2020? I also had no clue the US was still getting so many Cuban immigrants. No wonder Miami continues to boom.

Not sure . I was under the impression there were many Cuban migrants crossing the border.

Breitbart isn't a news source.

And yeah, the U.S. desperately needs more immigration, especially highly skilled immigration. Obviously immigrants are tightly screened, so it isn't like they're likely to be Chinese spies or something.

This thread was interesting until I realized OP is only posting Breitbart, Cato, and Heritage Foundation articles. I'm out.
