/\ cool shots Martin.

Looks to be a lot of guys fishing off the edge there - a nice mental break from the busy life of the city.

You're absolutely right. Only a small potion of Richmond's ALR grows blueberries.

Davidivivid - cool picture but it’s making me dizzy dizzy! Wow, that’s a trippy visual effect, lol.

Wpg guy - great shots, always enjoy the greenery, nature and modern side of Winnipeg. We often see the grit and historic side, but I also like your fresh take.

Ok, another trip to Vancouver, so a few more pics from there from me:

Cool set! If you squint that last pic almost looks like a pre-war block in an Eastern European city (in a charming way). I imagine that wood isn't in great shape though.

I was gifted a ticket to go and try out the Eagle Coaster, Canada's longest alpine coaster on top of Cypress Mountain.

I haven't been up Cypress Mountain for few years, so I was surprised to see few new structures having gone up next to the Creek Lodge. Looks good and the place was bustling with hikers.

The coaster zig-zags down the mountain with everything being powered by gravity.

Enjoying the view on the way up.

I was the very first rider for the day, so I was able to push it as much as I wanted. The track is 1,719 meters long and has an elevation change of 279 meters, offering speeds of up to 40km/h which feels rather fast so close to the ground.

Carts are very simple and only have a seat belt and a brake lever, allowing one to adjust their speed. I was full speed most of the time and only braked slightly in some corners, as the ride can be a bit rough on your back.

All in all, I had fun and was actually wanted to do another go. Tickets for the 3 - 3.5 minute ride are tourist price at $35 for single ride and $52 for two rides. In my opinion it is worth it to do it once and I am happy Cypress has introduced a new attraction to the city.

Looks fun! Was there a couple summers ago to do St. Mark's Summit, wanted to try this but wasn't open (maybe not completed yet?). Guess I'll have to make a trip back out west

Yes, it was fun and exceeded my expectations! This coaster was completed in summer of 2021, so it has been up and running for few summers now.

Should you desire to try one, there is actually one also in Ontario which is seemingly a little faster (42kmh/s vs. 40km/h):

Fantastic set, SignalHillHiker.

This looks great. Similar to vistas you might find in QC or old Montreal. Did they update the street lamps on Water street?

Klazu - that coaster ride looks janky AF! Obviously it’s thoroughly tested, and I guess you can credit them for not overbuilding it, lol. Btw, really stunning shots you posted today in the weather thread of the forests near Whistler. Very artistic - SSP is not worthy!

SHH - lots of nice St. John’s photos, always interesting and fresh!

Before I post my own pics sharing a few Victoria images from Flickr over the past couple months.

Left to right - Cruise ship, Victoria Clipper (high speed catamaran that goes to downtown Seattle), Harbour Air seaplane likely taking over for downtown Vancouver, cargo freighter and at the far right you can just see the Coho ferry which goes to Port Angeles WA. Busy harbour!

Coast Guard dock and next to it the cruise ship terminal:

This was a carbon free race (no motors!) to Alaska, and because sailboats aren’t allowed to have their sails up in the narrow inner harbour they had to paddle out.

The company making these ride is well-known in the business and seems to be a market leader, so the solution is very battle tested.

And I think you meant to compliment giallo for his fantastic contribution on the Weather thread.
