It would be cool if they put a big modern mural like they've been doing in other cities

Or just a big mural of Brian Roberts

There are some in Philly but I meant ones with more of a modern art look as opposed to the majority of the mural arts project ones they have here.

Now I'm quite curious how you would define "modern art", but at this point I suppose we are veering off topic.

Kenny Scharf or Shepard Fairey's murals aren't modern enough for you? Word to the wise, there are a ton of modern art mural installations around the city... some of them by renowned modern artists.

I'm probably not the first to say this, but I think it's very exciting that once the Study and the Hill College House are complete, the intersection of 33rd and Chestnut will showcase four handsome contemporary buildings completed within a few years of each other. It's definitely not a common sight outside of large-scale neighborhood developments and renewal projects.

Yes I know. I was trying to say that I would like to see more of them and a blank wall that size would make a great canvas. If anything does go up there, though, I'm sure Comcast will have a say in it.

The Study Hotel at University City - 10 floors - 33rd and Chestnut - official groundbreaking

Quote:
Councilwoman Jannie Blackwell joined Hospitality 3 principal Paul McGowan, Drexel president John Fry and representatives from the University and Hospitality 3 to break ground this week on The Study Hotel, a 212-room property on the campus of Drexel University. It's the second property of that brand, following one at Yale. According to Paul, Study Hotels are designed to accommodate the needs of university markets and cultural centers by encouraging social and cultural interaction in a "relaxed yet stimulating environment."

Yes. Just yes. A Nuisance bar is being removed and replaced well designed office space right next to transit? At a relatively high density and well outside of Center City no less? Please more of this.
