This sales office is built on solid foundations. It seems it will quite a temporary building. But this is good news. Downtown's ugliest parking lot (tied with its neighbours) is seeing its end.

Looks fine until you compare it to that 56 Leonard proposal for Nouvelle York. Montreal used to build lots of buildings with a similar wow factor. Amazing architecture is what made Montreal special. 'YUL' is acceptable, but if you fill Montreal with buildings like that from one end to the other you're not going to be anything special one day.

Montreal's a stylish city and it's about time it put some pizzazz back its new building designs. 56 Leonard would look dynamite in Montreal. That's what Montreal needs, not 50 'YUL' type buildings all over the place.

You are right about that isaidso, but the city has height restrictions that make it impossible to allow buildings taller than the mountain, therefore the duo condo tower sets are here to stay.

The Montreal skyline is currently scattered and quite ordinary. All it needs is one 56 Leonard, same quality design, same height, and the skyline will be ready to roll. En bref, we need a real quality landmark skyscraper.

Our height limit permits us to go as tall as 225m, that's good enough for a 60 storey mixed use tower.

Even if construction of these twins don't start for years, just to see the parking lot fenced up like this is a huge relief for my soul.
