I still think Vanderbilt One would be a better name. Sounds more majestic.

This along with CPT topping out within the same week. What a time to be alive!

Such an amazing topping out to a fantastic looking tower. And having the lights working at night really makes the topping out that much more memorable and exciting. I was just in NYC last month but already want to go back just to see how this has within the last month added visual interest to the already amazing skyline.

Eh, I think One Neil Armstrong would be a better name. Screw the Vanderbilts.

Its like the new ESB in its presence.

Although I believe 270 Park is going to somewhat impact it.

^ 270 Park will have an impact, as will the Grand Hyatt tower, which will probably have more of an impact.

It's gorgeous, but man that extra 100 feet would have been the icing on the cake.

This one's juxtaposition with its neigboring structures is simply marvelous wherever you care to look from.

And the spire has quite a bit more to it than I originally suspected. It makes me excited to see the whole crown put together and lit.

Its a spire done right, which sometimes can be hard to pull off. Sometimes spires can fail miserably, but this one works perfectly. Adds so much to the tower. The perfect icing on the cake, and goes hand-in-hand with the crown.

Hello everyone,

I was wondering if someone could shed some light on how the spire is attached to the top of Vanderbilt.

Maybe it's nothing more than the base being welded/attached otherwuse to the "floor" and then the other components are brought up
.
