I was there last July and really impressed by how totally spotless, clean, and safe the downtown felt. No sketchballs or homeless. Honestly, it's the cleanest CBD I've ever seen in the USA, and while small, it's very pleasant to walk around.

Great photos, as always. Thank you. Btw, do you know what’s going on in that space in the Union block between Mai Thai and Moon’s?

Im so impressed with your virtue signaling you spent more time showing off lefty images then that of the city.

However your images are beautiful and well done.

I attribute the cleanliness to civic pride and the fact the city and various agencies do a great job keeping downtown clean, and the planter boxes blooming. The crew downtown comes out late at night, especially weekends and drives small and compact street/sidewalk sweepers up and down the walks and streets.

Gorgeous photos, well put together thread! I have always been drawn to the outdoor activities and nature that is in the city and adjacent and try to seek out more when I visit. Boise definitely has the best outdoor and wilderness access of any state capital city in the MW.

Oh, I know I have communicated good character with my photos This is Boise.

I've been posting photo threads of Boise for years, so if you search this forum you will see others that might offer up more of what you are looking for. I also have a photo thread in the Mountain West forum that I update often.

Thanks for the compliment regarding my photos. I appreciate it!

Thanks! I've heard it is for a new restaurant/bar that will connect to the alley with an underground entrance, near the new speakeasy.

I agree regarding the outdoor access. I can ride my bike less than a mile from downtown and be on hundreds of miles of single track in the Foothills or be in dense forest at the mountain tops within a 20 minute car drive from the Northend. The Boise River Greenbelt is another amazing outdoor adventure spanning nearly 30 miles along the Boise River through old growth Cottonwood and Aspen forests that line the river through the city.

The mountains and forests that adjoin the city have access to the largest alpine wilderness areas and some of the wildest and most beautiful mountains in the Lower 48 and some of that is within the Boise Metropolitan boundaries. South of the valley/city are some of the most remote and stunning desert river canyons in the west which stretch into our neighbor, Oregon. This city and area is a great place for outdoorsy people who value true Wilderness.

In addition, downtown is one of the most vibrant I've encountered on my business travels throughout the west, and certainly more vibrant with a much more engaging street level energy than my city.

Hopefully at some point in the near future, Boise can expand its transportation options.
