Seems like they slipped a fast one on us. The smaller mat furthest East is already poured! Capped with pink styrofoam. Will post pics later.

Couldn't find the floor plans, does anyone know how many elevators there will be all together?

Surprised me, too. But at least I don't have to get up early Saturday to see another pour

Is Vista going to have canted vertical columns? Or will the floor plates simply expand and contract in size to form atop standard vertical columns to form the frustum shapes?

Edit: The more I look at renderings, the less variation I see between floors. I imagine the columns will be regular ole' vertical ones with the floor plates expanding to create the shape of each floor à la Aqua. I do hope we'll get to see some very unique concrete engineering features though; particularly in regards to how the middle town is 'suspended' between the East & West towers.

Those outside shearwalls, in skyguy's pics, slope in and out. The other core will have the same set up, but only one sloping shearwall on the South side.

Photo taken around 2:00 today (2/11). It's a bit hard to tell from that angle, but they're actually extending Upper Wacker in the background there - putting up steel beams. All the residential buildings in Lakeshore East got a notice about the ramps being closed this weekend.

EDIT: also, sorry for being dumb, but can someone explain to me exactly how they are connecting Waterside Drive to Upper Wacker? I assume they're extending Waterside Drive north to meet Upper Wacker, but is that happening on the lake side of the Regatta or the other side? Or I am entirely confused??? I can't seem to work it out from the stuff I can find online.

EDIT 2: Nevermind, I worked it out. They're going to extend Waterside Drive behind the Shoreham, so it will continue in a straight line, and then have it turn north and pass through the middle of Vista above where N. Field Blvd. is now to meet Upper Wacker. For some reason I didn't realize they were going to be roads through the middle of Vista at two levels - I thought only the current N. Field Blvd. (soon to be Lower N. Field Blvd, presumably) was actually passing through the building. So they're just extending Upper Wacker so that there's a nice landscaped turnaround area? I'm still a bit confused about that.

I was looking at some of the floorplans on the website. There are some perimeter walls on the south side of the building (iirc not so on the north side) that really unfortunately reduce substantially window coverage for a couple of the units....I would think/hope that the psf price for the affected units is meaningfully lower than similar units without the obstruction......

Yeah, I've got to think this is at least somewhat ahead of schedule.
Very impressive progress to-date. Certainly aided by really helpful benign winter weather thus far (knock on wood!), but it's been an impressive operation to watch progress.....

Definitely not wasting any time. They just got the permit last week to build up to 'floor one' and almost immediately started work on extending Upper Wacker.

Really pleased to see the extension moving forward. Really irks me how Upper Wacker just stops.
