I'm seeing a noticeable lack of those blue panels from the renders...

That’s kind of odd. I don’t know why but I was thinking the blue sheets covering the white siding were the blue panels.

I was thinking the same thing. The blue that we are seeing looks like paper covering the cladding and the panels that have no blue paper don't look at all like this:

Could the blue that we were expecting have been value engineered out of existence?

I have never seen a manufactured purple cladding so I'm going out on a limb and predict that the purple color will eventually be painted on to what looks like relatively raw material. The mock up looks like paintable cinder block.

Ahh, so maybe that's why there was a blue paint tub sitting by the prototype window.

I will eat my stetson if they paint the outside of a high-rise.

I think everything we're seeing on the tower so far is just weather and sound proofing materials.

It wouldn't be the first time. The Hilton, Hyatt and Holiday Inn all got a paint job. Bon Appetit

Oh, and 823 Congress was repainted...blue. So in that regard, I agree, they messed up, with their color choice. Then there's Winsor on the Lake that recently got new paint. I'm going to double down on my assumption that the Waller will be painted purple...or not.

The Towers of Town Lake are finishing up with an exterior redo. I think that one turned out well. It looks 2020ish instead of 1980ish.

I work up near this building, and took a walk around it today. Up close, that beige wall color in the pics is clearly a form of primer or undercoat. It's been spread liberally but also somewhat sloppily. The walls themselves look very unfinished, and will need those blue tiles -- or whatever they've decided to go forward with. But it definitely is not complete, and will require another layer.

It looks to me like the purple panels are densglass and the beige is weather sealant on top of the densglass. I would think the aluminum panels or limestone would go on top of the beige.

Does anyone remember a rumor about that Hertz dealership? Wasn't there a medium sized tower planned for that lot at one time several years back? This would've been pre-pandemic by a couple of years, if I remember correctly.

Is that a CVC? Don't have a moment to look at the map - just hoping someone knows.

Good point. Yes, according to our excellent google map overlay, it is under a CVC.

I might have my wires crossed, and be remembering another plan further south along the service road.
